Established in honour of Bermuda’s first Olympic gold medalist, the Flora Duffy Award supports the development of the island’s most promising junior athletes. Inspired by a world-class champion, this award is dedicated to empowering young Bermudians who demonstrate exceptional potential and are committed to reaching the highest levels of achievement in sport.

Who Can Apply?
Bermudian athletes who:

Hold a Bermudian passport (or status document)

Is aged 19–23 years old at the time of application

Is in good standing with their National Sport Governing Body (NSGB) and application submitted through an NSGB or recognized local sport organization

Demonstrates commitment, promise and achievement through recent results (typically last 12–36 months), training consistency, and a forward development plan
-
Is not currently receiving elite athlete assistance.
Program Benefits
Funding may support one athlete in any given sport or a junior development program focused on future elite performance. Eligible costs can include:

Coaching/tuition (local or overseas) and specialist support

Equipment purchases essential for training and competition
-
Competition and training camp travel (including international)
